HeadstartScience Subscription Terms and Conditions

By clicking "I accept," or by signing up, accessing, or using the service, you agree that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions, including our Privacy Notice. As a condition of your use of the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you are not eligible, or do not agree to these terms, then you do not have permission to use the service.

Age Requirements

You must be 18 years old to agree to these terms.

If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must complete the sign-up process and agree to these terms on your behalf.

Subscription and Payment Terms

When We Charge You

• We charge you when you set up your subscription after your 14-day free trial ends
• Thereafter, we take payment monthly at £20 per month
• Payments are automatically processed on the same day each month

VAT

If the rate of VAT changes during your subscription, we will adjust the rate of VAT that you pay, unless you have already paid in full before the change takes effect.

Your Right to Change Your Mind (UK/EU Users)

You have a legal right to change your mind about your subscription within 14 days of signing up and receive a full refund.

How to Cancel Within 14 Days

Contact us at info@headstartscience.co.uk within 14 days of your subscription start date.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Additionally, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with our service within the first 30 days of your paid subscription, contact us for a full refund.

How We Refund You

We process refunds as soon as possible and within 14 days of your cancellation request. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. We don't charge a fee for refunds.

Ending Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time by:

• Visiting your Account Settings and clicking "Cancel Subscription"
• Emailing info@headstartscience.co.uk

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access until then.

Your Legal Rights

Changes to Services and Terms

Changes We Can Make

• To reflect changes in relevant laws and regulations
• To make minor technical improvements or address security threats
• To update content while maintaining the description provided when you subscribed

Service Suspension

We may suspend service to:

• Deal with technical problems or make technical changes
• Update content to reflect changes in laws or exam specifications

We will notify you in advance unless the issue is urgent. If suspension exceeds 7 days, we will adjust your subscription accordingly or allow you to terminate without penalty.

We Can End Your Subscription If

• You don't make payment when due and fail to pay within 3 days of reminder
• You breach these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• You engage in conduct that puts other users at risk

Limitation of Liability

We Don't Compensate You For

• Unexpected losses that were not foreseeable
• Delays outside our control (e.g., internet outages, third-party service failures)
• Avoidable losses (e.g., not following our guidance or system requirements)
• Business losses as our service is for personal educational use only

Losses We Never Limit or Exclude

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• Any matter where exclusion would be unlawful

Educational Use

HeadstartScience can be used as part of elective home education (EHE) to supplement learning.

Note: We cannot be the sole provider of EHE for children of compulsory school age, as we are not a registered exam centre and do not offer all academic subjects. We are not currently a registered provider of EOTAS (Education Other Than At School).

Going to Court

These terms are governed by English law. You can bring claims against us in the English courts. If you live in Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in the courts of the country you live in.

Other Important Terms

Transfer of Subscription

We can transfer this agreement to another organization. We'll notify you in writing if this happens. You can only transfer your subscription to someone else with our written consent.

Nobody Else Has Rights

This contract is between you and HeadstartScience. Nobody else can enforce it.

Severability

If a court finds some of these terms unlawful, the rest will continue to apply.

Enforcement

Even if we delay enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later.

Intellectual Property

All content, materials, study modules, quizzes, and resources on HeadstartScience are owned by HeadstartScience Ltd and protected by UK and international copyright laws.

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content
• Share your account credentials with others
• Create derivative works from our materials
• Use our content for commercial purposes

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Share your account with others
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Harass, bully, or discriminate against other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Upload malicious code or viruses

Service Availability

We provide the service "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected
• The service is free of viruses or harmful components
• You will achieve specific exam results

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control (internet outages, third-party failures, etc.).

Live Lessons

• Monthly subscriptions include 4 live lessons per month
• Live lessons are subject to availability and must be booked in advance
• Unused live lessons do not roll over to the next month
• We may record live lessons for quality and safeguarding purposes

Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• Payment is not received within 3 days of reminder
• You breach these Terms or our Student Code of Conduct
• You engage in abusive or harmful behaviour toward staff or other users

Withdrawal of Service

We can stop providing the service at any time. We will give you at least 14 days notice and refund any amounts you've paid in advance for unused subscription time.

Disclaimers

HeadstartScience provides educational revision materials and support. We do not guarantee:

• Specific exam results or grade improvements
• That all content is error-free (though we strive for accuracy)
• Compatibility with all devices and browsers
• Uninterrupted access to live lessons

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HeadstartScience Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your misuse of the service
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you submit to the platform

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

You can bring claims against us in the English courts. If you live in Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in the courts where you live.
