Are these the official AQA past papers?
Yes. These are the actual question papers and mark schemes from AQA GCSE Science exams from 2018 to 2024.
Were there exams in 2020 and 2021?
Summer exams were cancelled due to COVID-19, but AQA held November exam sessions in both years. The papers from those November sittings are included here.
Should I use Foundation or Higher tier papers?
Foundation tier covers grades 1-5, Higher tier covers grades 4-9. Check with your teacher which tier you are entered for. If aiming for grades 6+, practise with Higher tier.
How should I use past papers for revision?
Study the topic first, then attempt the paper under timed exam conditions. Mark using the mark scheme, identify weak areas, and revisit those topics before trying another paper.
What is the difference between Triple and Combined Science?
Triple Science students sit separate Biology (8461), Chemistry (8462) and Physics (8463) papers for three separate GCSEs. Combined Science Trilogy (8464) covers all three but awards two combined GCSEs.
